Quote of the Day
The most important factor in the training of good mental habits consists in acquiring the attitude of suspended conclusion, and in mastering the various methods of searching for new materials to corroborate or to refute the first suggestions that occur.
— John Dewey
One of the engineer's in my group sent me this reference to a blog post on ten techniques that make you sound smart in a meeting. While this engineer did not name any names, I know several people that I regularly work with that use these methods.
Will I be able to keep myself from smiling when I see them using these techniques?
Better than banging your head on the desk.
I swear I see at least one of these techniques every day. The one that drives me nuts is "will this scale?" It usually is asked at a completely inappropriate point.
